Jeans: less banned – more creative!
Jeans for many years were part of the American “uniform”: you can hardly find an American, in whose wardrobe there is no at least one pair of jeans. They are worn on weekdays, on weekends, at home and sometimes even in the office. But gradually good jeans become more and more expensive, so their status also rises. Today they can be seen in the most unexpected places, for example, in a church.
It feels like there are no restrictions for jeans, but is it? Especially this question worries those who buy expensive designer denim and want to wear these things everywhere.
The epicenter of the denim war is in New York. This city can be called the lawmaker of American fashion. Residents of this megapolis, for the most part, take care of their appearance and always try to keep abreast of the trends of the season and the rules of fashion. Many are convinced that wearing jeans into a theater is not a permissible thing: it is considered a disagreement with actors and other viewers who observe a certain dress code.
“I’m completely“ for ”the so-called denim revolution that is taking place at the present time, but I’m all over with the fact that sometimes we have to leave the jeans in the cabinet and put on something more appropriate to the case. I feel uneasy when I see people wearing jeans in an opera or ballet theater, ”says Lisa Kerson, a famous American designer jeweler.
In the wardrobe of an average fashionist, there can be 15-20 pairs of jeans, among which there are as simple models, costing no more than $ 200, and premium brands, the price of which exceeds $ 1000. With regards to knowledge, they prefer to wear denim on various talk shows, press conferences, and sometimes even solemn events. It is their behavior that sets the fashion for wide masses, so lately there is such a phenomenon, when simple citizens, especially young people, can save money for a long time to buy designer jeans instead of purchasing at least quality ordinary ones.
However, the concept of designer jeans is not new at all. This trend was actual in the 70s and 80s. However, the question still remains unresolved whether the denim can be put on secular and cultural events. Experts on etiquette persuade us that jeans can not be worn at official events, such as a wedding or a formal reception. Also denim is excluded from the allowable things in the offices of reputable companies. However, some etiquette specialists are more loyal: they claim that everything depends on the appearance of jeans.
Today there are many working options that are even not suitable for a nightclub, but there are also such jeans, which, by the way, can be classified as “haute couture”. If you go to a restaurant and wear jeans, in this case it is important that you have your companion or companion. If your half prefers evening or classic style, it is unlikely that you will look harmoniously next to torn jeans.
In the men’s fashion for denim, there are obviously less restrictions, especially if men prefer a direct cut and a dark color gamut. But in any case, and for them there are certain tabs, for example, a funeral.
For fans of jeans, the fact that there are fewer and fewer restrictions can be good news. This is especially true for women aged 30 to 40 years, for whom youthful conformity is not enforced, but they are still concerned with the impression that they produce when they appear somewhere.
Alice Harris (Alice Harris), author of the book “Blue Jeans” notes a clear tendency to remove many restrictions and “simplify” the rule. “People relate to jeans much simpler than ten years ago. In general, the problem is not at all that some materials, such as denim, are bad in themselves. The main thing is what is made of it and how it looks. ”
